Baseball Recap: Sycamore Takes a Loss

Sycamore blew Marmion out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Marmion got their revenge. The Spartans fell just short of the Cadets by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Sycamore has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-14 record this season. As for Marmion, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12-1 record this season.

Sycamore will venture away from home to challenge Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Dukes & Duchesses have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Marmion, they will host Wheaton North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
