Rhyann Guier made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Guier was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Bullington, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sophia Whitaker was another key player, earning one RBI and three runs.
Meanwhile, Evansville Central came up short against Vincennes Lincoln on Thursday, falling 15-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered against the Alices since March 28, 2016.
Maddie Glaser was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Evansville Central's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5. As for Evansville Harrison, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Evansville Harrison hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Evansville Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
