Marion waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Mt. Vernon Rams 3-1. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly two runs.

Marion's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Marion will take on Centralia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will square off against Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
