Football Recap: Woodcreek Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Woodcreek gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against the Jesuit Marauders as they made off with a 38-13 win. The Timberwolves pushed the score to 31-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Marauders had little chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodcreek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blake Hastings, who rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown. Hastings was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Josiah Melendez, who rushed for 50 yards and one score.

Woodcreek didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Jesuit to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Trace Murchison for the heroic effort on defense: he. Woodcreek wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.

Woodcreek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ethan Keim, Murchison, Dwayne [DJ] Mosley, and Roman Pereyda picked up one apiece. Woodcreek received some extra help from Max Nereson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Although Jesuit took the loss, they still got scores from Kwanna Smith and Rocco Lucchetti.
