Softball Recap: Billings West Wins Going Away Against Russell

Billings West barely beat Russell the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Bears were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Rustlers on Thursday. The Golden Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Tatum Bush, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ryane Viker was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Billings West has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Russell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Billings West will face off against Glacier at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolfpack have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. Russell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
