Recap: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. Cross Schools Stingrays

This season hasn't been kind to the Holly Hill Academy Raiders, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They were beaten by Cross Schools 51-12 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Holly Hill Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Cross Schools is ranked 75th).

Cross Schools' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sydney Hollings led the charge by scoring 15 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Hollings scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Genesis Wilson, who scored six points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.

Holly Hill Academy bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.2 points per game. As for Cross Schools, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Coincidentally, Holly Hill Academy and Cross Schools will both be playing Andrew Jackson Academy the next time they take the court. Cross Schools will head out to face Andrew Jackson Academy at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Holly Hill Academy will host them at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
