Basketball Recap: Chapin Falls Despite Big Games from Reagan Haggard and Atyria Douglas

Chapin lost against White Knoll back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Chapin Eagles received a blow as they fell 52-35 to the White Knoll Timberwolves.

Chapin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Atyria Douglas, who made all 5 shots she took for 10 points, and Reagan Haggard, who posted eight points and 15 boards. Haggard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Chapin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Chapin's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-14. As for White Knoll, their record now sits at 17-9.

Coming up, Chapin will face off against St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Chapin is facing St. James at the right time seeing as St. James is stuck on a five-game losing streak. White Knoll does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
