Preview: Kempsville Chiefs vs. First Colonial Patriots
Kempsville has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on The First Colonial Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Kempsville was just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to Cox.
Meanwhile, First Colonial's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Landstown 56-17.
Despite the loss, First Colonial had strong showings from Rhett McNamara, who picked up 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Tyson Moravec, who threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
Kempsville now has a losing record at 4-5. As for First Colonial, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Kempsville against First Colonial in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 57-10 victory. Will Kempsville repeat their success, or does First Colonial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
