Football Recap: Pickens Dragons vs. North Hall Trojans
Friday just wasn't the day for Pickens's offense. They had to suffer through a 38-0 loss at the hands of the North Hall Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Dragons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Tanner S Bail threw for 62 yards on 11 of 29 attempts. McCord Purdy was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Ike Wyngaard rushed for 61 yards on only seven carries.
North Hall had a senior duo take command as Wyatt Tumlin rushed for 98 yards and two scores on only 12 carries and Parker Carlton gained 130 total yards and a touchdown. Carlton also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defending one pass.
Having lost for the first time this season, Pickens fell to 5-1. As for North Hall, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Pickens and North Hall will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Dragons see the field they'll take on Chestatee at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. As for North Hall, their break will end when they face Greater Atlanta Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th.
