Volleyball Recap: Presley Korte and Dalaynie Loftin Secure Win for Severance

Severance proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Greeley Central Wildcats. The win continues a trend for the Silver Knights in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Severance had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 19-25, 25-22, 25-15, 15-7.

Leading Severance to victory were Dalaynie Loftin and Presley Korte. Loftin had 11 aces and six digs, while Korte had 12 digs and four aces. Those 12 digs gave Korte a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Severance was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

The victory got Severance back to even at 6-6. As for Greeley Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Severance and Greeley Central will both be playing Roosevelt the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Roughriders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Silver Knights will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
