Volleyball Recap: DeKalb Takes a Loss

DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Carroll Chargers, falling 3-0. The Barons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-11.

Leading Carroll to victory were Dominic Bennett and Declan McCumber. Bennett had five aces and three digs, while McCumber had four digs and three aces. Those three aces gave McCumber a new career-high.

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Carroll, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. DeKalb will challenge rival Huntington North at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Carroll is set to face off against their familiar foe Fort Wayne Northrop at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
