Basketball Game Preview: Landstown Eagles vs. Denbigh Patriots

Having just played yesterday, the Landstown Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Denbigh Patriots at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Denbigh is hoping to do what Kempsville couldn't on Friday: put an end to Landstown's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Landstown walked away with a 64-54 win over Kempsville. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Chiefs are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Landstown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damien Robinson, who posted 21 points and eight rebounds. The game was Robinson's third in a row with at least ten points. Josiah Law was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six boards and four blocks.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Denbigh against Warwick on Thursday as the team secured a 62-30 win. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Landstown's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Denbigh, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
