Baseball Recap: Granbury Pirates vs. Arlington Colts

Granbury extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 16-8 in the process. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arlington Colts. The shutout was out of character for the Pirates seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Granbury saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Marquardt, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

As for Arlington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

On Arlington's side, Mason Hensley was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Hensley a new career-high.

Coming up, Granbury will face off against Colleyville Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
