MORENO VALLEY, Calif. -
Valley View (Moreno Valley, Calif.) jumped out to an early lead against
Hemet (Calif.) and never looked back on the way to a 35-14 victory on Saturday.
The Eagles put up seven points in the opening quarter. Valley View scored on an
Abraham Nuno touchdown pass to
Jordan Randolph.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Nuno to Randolph in the first quarter, VV led 21-0 at the half.
The Moreno Valley school expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. The Eagles scored two times in the third, including once on an Nuno touchdown run.
Valley View also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 24-14.
The defeat comes as a step back for Hemet, who notched a 58-0 victory over Indio in its previous outing.
