Seminole Ridge is 0-7 against Park Vista since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Seminole Ridge Hawks will head out to face off against the Park Vista Cobras at 7:00 p.m. Seminole Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Seminole Ridge is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1.
Cailee Sessions spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Seminole Ridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yazmin Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Gonzalez also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Park Vista put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let John Carroll Catholic get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.
Angeline Mergen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Keaganne Glidden was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Isabella Golas was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Park Vista pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Seminole Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seminole Ridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Park Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seminole Ridge came up short against Park Vista in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 8-4. Can Seminole Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
