Volleyball Recap: Marion Swamp Foxes vs. Manning Monarchs

Marion lost against Manning back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Swamp Foxes fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 3-2. The Swamp Foxes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Marion sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 16-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-2.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manning to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briana Gamble, who had seven aces. Those seven aces gave Gamble a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Palmer, who had six kills and five aces.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Manning, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Marion is set to take on their familiar foe East Clarendon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Manning will challenge rival Lake City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
