Football Game Preview: Campbell Spartans vs. South Cobb Eagles + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Davin Lemire and Freedom Jones are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Campbell Spartans and the South Cobb Eagles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Campbell has given up an average of 26.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Campbell is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Harrison last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Spartans lost 45-20 to the Hoyas. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Hoyas are ranked 30th).

Despite the defeat, Campbell got top-tier performance from Ajavius Joyner, who picked up 91 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Meanwhile, South Cobb and Osborne were almost perfectly matched up last Friday, but South Cobb suffered a 21-20 loss. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although South Cobb took the loss, they still got scores from Nicholas Duncan and Jones.

South Cobb now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Campbell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Campbell against South Cobb in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
