Football Recap: University Comes Up Short

University had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it five. They took a blow against the Pacifica Mariners, falling 42-6. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, University still got an impressive performance from Cruz McMullens, who picked up 213 receiving yards and one score. McMullens' receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 117 receiving yards.

As for Pacifica, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Pacifica's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ma'Kai Brown led the charge by rushing for 151 yards and one TD while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was James Anema, who threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-2 win against Buena Park on the 10th. As for Pacifica, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-7 victory against Woodbridge on the 9th.
