Recap: West Aurora Blackhawks vs. Yorkville Foxes
The West Aurora Blackhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yorkville. While losing is never fun, West Aurora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Yorkville is ranked 93rd).
West Aurora's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklynn Johnson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shiane Johnson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
West Aurora's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Yorkville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Oswego the next time they take the court. Yorkville will head out to face Oswego at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while West Aurora will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
