Baseball Recap: Braddock Find Success

While Braddock's victory against St. Brendan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Braddock Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Brendan Sabres 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Jesus Moreno's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Braddock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Braddock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Brendan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Braddock will challenge Schoolhouse Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Braddock's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Schoolhouse Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Brendan, they will square off against Southridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
