Soccer Recap: Lake Highlands' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lake Highlands was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They won by a goal and slipped past the Rockwall-Heath Hawks 2-1. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Hawks are ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eloise Wilcox was the driving force of Lake Highlands' attack as she scored both of Lake Highlands' goals, bringing her season total up to three goals.

The victory (which was Lake Highlands' fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four games. As for Rockwall-Heath, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-5-1.

Coincidentally, Lake Highlands and Rockwall-Heath will both be playing Fort Bend Elkins the next time they take the pitch. Rockwall-Heath will host Fort Bend Elkins at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, while Lake Highlands will head out to face them at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
