Lorena never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Connally Cadets 19-0. The Leopards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Kacie Brown looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Lorena got a massive performance out of Brooklynn Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Rodriguez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Lorena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
Lorena has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Connally, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
