Baseball Recap: Hinkley Thunder vs. George Washington Patriots
Hinkley extended their losing streak to 11 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They came up short against the George Washington Patriots, falling 20-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 back in March.
As for George Washington, the win got them back to even at 7-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.
For George Washington's part, Matt Holliger was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Holliger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Watada, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Coming up, Hinkley will venture away from home to take on Custer County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Thunder surely won't give up without a fight. As for George Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vista PEAK Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
