Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aniya Mcgregor and Kennedy Moore Lead Pinecrest to Victory

After losing to Lee County the last time they met, Pinecrest decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pinecrest Patriots blew past the Lee County Yellow Jackets 47-21 on Tuesday. With the Patriots ahead 35-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Pinecrest was led to victory by Kennedy Moore and Aniya McGregor. Moore went 6 of 11 on her way to 16 points and seven steals, while McGregor went 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points and six steals. Moore's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Vonderkall, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Pinecrest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

The win got Pinecrest back to even at 7-7. As for Lee County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Scotland the next time they take the court. Pinecrest will host Scotland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Lee County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
