Baseball Recap: South Panola Has No Trouble Against Southaven

South Panola won against Clarksdale on Friday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The South Panola Tigers blew past the Southaven Chargers 14-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Wyatt Long looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Taylor Anderson was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with six RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anson Bright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

South Panola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southaven only posted an OBP of .375.

South Panola's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Southaven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

South Panola didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-2 win against Clarksdale on the 25th. As for Southaven, they will take on Memphis Home Education Association at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
