Eatonville is a perfect 3-0 against Fife since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cruisers will head out to face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Eatonville knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Fife likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Eatonville came up short against Orting and fell 15-11.
Amy Tozier made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Kenney, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Fife made easy work of Washington on Monday and carried off a 9-1 win. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Mallory Geving made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Geving was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other pitching news, Frankie Wolfrom looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Fife let Ashlynn Monroe and Mallory Robson run wild. Monroe went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Robson went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Kaitlin Christiansen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Fife kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Eatonville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Fife, their record is now 5-3.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eatonville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. However, it's not like Fife struggles in that department as they've averaged .502. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eatonville took their victory against Fife when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 14-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cruisers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
