Football Recap: Heritage Academy Gateway Skates Past Mission Heights Prep with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage Academy Gateway). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Mission Heights Prep Phantoms 46-0. Winning may never get old, but the Heroes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Academy Gateway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stratton Ellsworth, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Axton Leavitt helped out on the ground, rushing for 102 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Heritage Academy Gateway didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Calan Phillips and Matthew Thomason.

Heritage Academy Gateway's record is now 7-3. As for Mission Heights Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Heritage Academy Gateway will look to defend their home field on Thursday against AZ Compass Prep at 4:00 p.m. As for Mission Heights Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
