Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 60-53 to the Zeeland East Chix. While losing is never fun, the Hawkeyes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Chix are ranked 110th).

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Zeeland East, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Hamilton will be playing at home against Holland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zeeland East, they will square off against Holland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chix will be up against the Maroons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.61 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
