Volleyball Recap: Van Alstyne Extends Winning Streak to Three

Van Alstyne had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Poteet Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since October 4, 2024.

Murphy Meck paced Van Alstyne's offense, picking up nine kills. Meck got some help from Kinzi Schrage and her 16 assists. Finally, Phoebe O'Brien kept Van Alstyne's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Van Alstyne's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Van Alstyne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Forney on the 26th. As for Poteet, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Melissa on the 26th.
