Basketball Recap: Wausa Find Success

Osmond came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Wausa, but Taylor Dawson wouldn't allow it. The Wausa Vikings managed a 45-39 victory over the Osmond Tigers on Saturday thanks in part to Dawson, who went 5 for 12 en route to 22 points along with six boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Mackenzie Vanness was another key player, putting up a point and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Osmond lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sophie Gansebom, who posted 15 points and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Keli Aschoff, who scored seven points and six steals.

Wausa's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Osmond, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Wausa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-28 victory against Neligh-Oakdale on the 14th. As for Osmond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-36 win against Newman Grove/St. Edward on the 14th.
