Soccer Game Preview: Highlands Latin vs. Shelby County

The Highlands Latin Highlanders will face off against the Shelby County Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highlands Latin will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Highlands Latin took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Christian Educational Consortium, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Highlanders' defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 1-0 shutout on Friday. Highlands Latin's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelby County). They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Fern Creek on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Shelby County considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Shelby County's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Highlands Latin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
