 Whitmer had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  victory over the Clay Eagles. For Whitmer, this counts as revenge for the   1-0 defeat Clay walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2023.
 For Clay's part,  Drake Sekinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Vinny Gallaher, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Whitmer pushed their record up to 16-7 with that  win, which was their third straight  at home. As for Clay, their loss dropped their record down to 20-4.
 Whitmer will be playing at home against Defiance at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Clay, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Central Catholic at 2:00  p.m.  on Sunday.
