Soccer Recap: Beaumont United Takes a Loss

Beaumont United came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Barbers Hill Eagles, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while the Eagles are ranked 142nd).

Beaumont United has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games. That's still a better percentage than their 1-11 record this season. The victory (which was Barbers Hill's sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaumont United will challenge Lee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaumont United is facing Lee at the right time seeing as Lee is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Barbers Hill, they will take on Port Neches-Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Barbers Hill has won six straight at home, while Port Neches-Groves won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
