Soccer Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Catawba Ridge Copperheads, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Northwestern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Catawba Ridge are ranked 15th).

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Catawba Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Northwestern will take on rival Clover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Catawba Ridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Indian Land at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
