Football Recap: American Fork Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but American Fork had no problem doing just that on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Lehi Pioneers 21-20. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nate Childs threw for 208 yards and one TD. David Dean was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards. On the ground, Prince Afu rushed for 67 yards.

Lehi's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Legend Glasker, who picked up 76 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Wyatt Bingham, who threw for 160 yards and two TDs. Glasker showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.

American Fork moved to 7-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lehi, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Coming up, American Fork will take on Skyridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavemen's defense better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 42.2 points per game this season. Lehi does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
