             It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Thomas Catholic had no problem doing just that  on Friday. They walked away with  a   31-19  win over the Trinity Christian Trojans. The Eagles pushed the score to  31-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.
 The critical scores for St. Thomas Catholic came from  Derek Stevenson,  Nate Tidwell,  and  Kenyan Navarre. Another player making a difference was  Pierce Jacobson, who threw for 187 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Thomas Catholic's defense and their five sacks. Trinity Christian's QB  won't forget  Liam Mccarthy anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Mccarthy is also on a roll when it comes to  total tackles, as he's  now  made five or more in the last eight games he's  played. St. Thomas Catholic got some further help from  Obinna Umeh: he picked up  a  sack and made seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).
 St. Thomas Catholic has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record  this season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 38.3 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the  defeat, which was their seventh straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 St. Thomas Catholic will challenge St. Michael's at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. St. Michael's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30  points per game  this season. Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
