Recap: Chavez Titans vs. Delano Tigers
The Chavez Titans were the 60-55 winner over the Delano Tigers when they last played one another on January 8th, but their luck changed this time around. Chavez fell just short of Delano by a score of 55-53. Chavez has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Delano's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ibrahim Shuwait led the charge by dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jotham Amodo, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Chavez has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Delano, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.
Chavez will be playing at home against Wasco at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasco is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Delano, they will head out on the road to take on Shafter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shafter and Delano are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
