Basketball Game Preview: Watonga Eagles vs. Cordell Blue Devils

The Watonga Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Cordell Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Watonga's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 matchups.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Watonga put the hurt on Sayre with a sharp 83-63 win. The victory continues a trend for Watonga in their matchups with Sayre: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Cordell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 56-44 to Carnegie.

Watonga's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Cordell, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Everything went Watonga's way against Cordell in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, as Watonga made off with a 74-53 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
