Preview: Hilltop Cadets vs. Edon Bombers
Hilltop and Edon are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Hilltop Cadets' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Edon Bombers at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Edon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hilltop, who comes in off a win.
Even though Hilltop has not done well against Hicksville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Hilltop took down Hicksville 54-37.
Meanwhile, Edon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. The match between Edon and Fremont wasn't particularly close, with Edon falling 48-34. While losing is never fun, Edon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 610th in Ohio, while Fremont is ranked 185th in Indiana).
Hilltop pushed their record up to 3-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Edon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Everything came up roses for Hilltop against Edon in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 63-24 win. Will Hilltop repeat their success, or does Edon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
