Basketball Recap: Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons vs. Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks
The Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They came out on top against Tamalpais by a score of 63-53. This was payback for Archie Williams, who suffered a 56-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Archie Williams found their leader in underclassman Brian Wright, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Grady Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Archie Williams is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Tamalpais, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.
Archie Williams will head out on the road to square off against the Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Peregrine Falcons like a good challenge. As for Tamalpais, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Marin Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Red Tailed Hawks are ranked 174th).
