Preview: Bradenton Christian Panthers vs. Out-of-Door Academy Thunder
Bradenton Christian and Out-of-Door Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since August of 2014, but not for long. The Bradenton Christian Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradenton Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Bradenton Christian got themselves on the board against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, but Bishop McLaughlin Catholic never followed suit. They breezed by the Hurricanes at home to the tune of 44-0. The result was nothing new for Bradenton Christian, who have now won five matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bradenton Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Colton Dempsey, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ott, who threw for 100 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Out-of-Door Academy's game on Friday was all tied up 12-12 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Cocoa Beach 26-20. Out-of-Door Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Out-of-Door Academy got a solid performance out of Jack Meyers, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown. Jack Taraska got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Bradenton Christian's victory bumped their season record to 6-1 while Out-of-Door Academy's loss dropped theirs to 3-4.
Bradenton Christian ended up a good deal behind Out-of-Door Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, losing 37-21. Can Bradenton Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
