Basketball Recap: Springdale Prep Takes a Loss

Springdale Prep played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 75-50 to the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost four in a row.

Riverdale Baptist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ariana Meriedy, who posted 14 points. Makyiah Ward was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Springdale Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 20-20. As for Riverdale Baptist, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springdale Prep will venture away from home to face off against Crofton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverdale Baptist, they and Rosedale Christian Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Rosedale Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
