Soccer Recap: Oak Ridge Comes Up Short

Oak Ridge was the 5-0 winner over Sevier County when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Smoky Bears on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Oak Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Sevier County are ranked 35th).

Oak Ridge has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season. As for Sevier County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Ridge will challenge Powell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sevier County, they will take on Morristown-Hamblen West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sevier County are facing Morristown-Hamblen West at the right time seeing as Morristown-Hamblen West are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
