Softball Recap: Clark Takes a Loss

Clark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Legacy Longhorns, falling 9-1. The matchup marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Clark saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia DeMonbrun, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. DeMonbrun has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

Clark's loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Clark will challenge Durango at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Trailblazers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Legacy, they will face off against Cimarron-Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
