Softball Game Preview: Seneca Indians vs. Royall Panthers

The Seneca Indians will take on the Royall Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Seneca came up short against Wauzeka-Steuben and fell 7-3. The Indians have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Brigid Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Seneca saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Clark's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Royall posted their closest victory since April 21st on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Brookwood 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Royall also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Brynn Olson gave up a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

Royall's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Seneca, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Seneca skirted past Royall 13-11 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
