Stark County had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Astoria/VIT 41-18. Stark County hasn't had any issues with Astoria/VIT recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, Astoria/VIT saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Colby Martin rushed for 157 yards and one TD, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Martin didn't just play on offense: he also forced two fumbles and made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).
