Basketball Recap: Granite City Takes a Loss

Granite City suffered their closest loss since February 5, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Beardstown Tigers by a score of 31-29. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Granite City has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Beardstown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granite City will welcome Triad at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Beardstown has already played their next game (against Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
