Recap: Balboa Buccaneers vs. Lincoln Mustangs
It was a good run, but The Balboa Buccaneers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Lincoln 15-10. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Balboa in their matchups with Lincoln: they've now lost three in a row.
It was another big night for Jamelle Newman, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Newman is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Balboa now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Lincoln, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Balboa will challenge Burton at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Mission at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Mission is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
