Basketball Game Preview: Gunnison Valley Bulldogs vs. North Summit Braves

Gunnison Valley is 0-10 against North Summit since January of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Gunnison Valley Bulldogs will host the North Summit Braves at 7:00 p.m.

Gunnison Valley is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Duchesne, falling 56-17. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, North Summit entered their tilt with North Sevier on Tuesday with 15 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 16. They really took it to the Wolves for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-36 win. With the Braves ahead 52-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Gunnison Valley better keep an eye on Hartlynn Richins. She was instrumental in North Summit's win, going 12 of 18 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Those 26 points gave Richins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayzlyn Murdock, who went 7 for 12 en route to 19 points and six rebounds.

North Summit smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 22 consecutive matchups.

North Summit pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Gunnison Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
