There's no place like home for Perry Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cannelton Bulldogs on Monday as they made off with a 19-0 win. Considering the Commodores have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Trace Knieriem made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Gage Clark was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That hit was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Griffin Harpenau, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Perry Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Perry Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cannelton, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Perry Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-8 win against Orleans on the 23rd. As for Cannelton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 26-4 loss against Tell City on the 28th.
